Brief: To design a poster to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the film ‘Leon’. I was new to the film, and enjoyed the unusual plot, and the combination of humour and violence. The spectrum of original and past posters for the film all used the face of the character Leon and large type as a focal point. I admired the visual appeal of this, and tried to keep my approach original yet reminiscent of the old in order to retain recognition for the current audience. I designed the ‘Leon’ lettering from scratch and then composed it over the striking face of key character, Mathilda.

The poster.

The custom lettering I created for this project which resembles the shape of a gun.
